The living area is focused around the original wood burning fireplaces constructed with Lyons sandstone from the local quarries. (The same sandstone that make up the red cliffs.) The wood floors and knotty pine paneling provide the hominess of a cabin, enhanced with more elegant furnishings than you might expect. The brass chandelier at the entry has a dimmer, so you may set a romantic mood if you desire. A wood fire or lit candles in the fireplace add to your peace and tranquility.

Cabin 19 is a one bedroom cabin unit that also has a sleeping loft. It  has a living area with a sofa sleeper, a kitchen and dining area, and a captain’s ladder leading to the sleeping loft with a queen bed. It has a full bath with a jetted whirlpool tub. Cabin 19 also has its own bedroom on the first floor with a queen bed.

The kitchen is restored using its original hand crafted knotty pine cabinets. The sinks and base cabinets were refinished with a fresh and exciting color scheme. There is a modern refrigerator and gas range with oven. The kitchens are stocked with coffee makers, microwaves and all the necessary kitchenware.

Access to the sleeping lofts are via uniquely designed, hand crafted captain’s ladders that are quite easy to climb. The loft has a pale blue ceiling representing the sky, the deep green carpet of lush grass, and the woodsy feel of knotty pine paneling.

When you look out the window, you could feel like you’re in a tree house. Both grown-ups and kids find the sleeping lofts fun and unique.

The sleeping loft is larger than you would expect. The highest part of its ceiling is about 5-1/2 feet and it partially overlooks the living room. The queen bed is set back providing quite a bit of privacy. There are comfy chairs for relaxing, reading and looking out at the scenery.

For Cabin 19, a bedroom is located in the back of the building, and looks out at the woods and up the mountain. The queen bed and elegant furniture provide the perfect place for a good night’s sleep. The dresser is possibly the only original piece. The room’s light green color and wood floor bring in nature from outdoors.

The bath room is completely restored with an art deco flare that keeps to the 1950’s flavor. It’s a full bath with a pedestal sink, and cabin 19 has a jetted tub. The bathroom has it’s own design using black and white bath and floor tiles and two tone paint.
