and a captain's ladder leading to a sleeping loft with a queen bed. Cabin 20 h as
a full bath, while cabin 19 has a full bath with a jetted tub. Cabin 19 also
has
its own bedroom on the first floor with a queen bed. Both units can be joined at
the living rooms through the use of a specially designed pocket door when rented
together.
(As you read the description, the pictures on the left

Cabin 19 and 20 have been restored to assure your stay will be a
unique experience.
Great care was given to restore the original knotty
pine paneling, doors, hardware, wood floors, kitchen cabinets, and any unique
features that originated when they were built in the early 1950's. Their
restoration included all new electric, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning.
Much of the furnishings a re classic pieces that came from the luxurious Brown
Palace Hotel in Denver.
The living areas are focused around the original wood burning fireplaces
constructed with
Lyons sandstone from the local quarries. (The same sandstone
that make up the red cliffs.) The wood floors and knotty pine paneling
provide
the hominess of a cabin, enhanced with more elegant furnishings than you might
expect. The brass chandeliers
at the entries have dimmers, so that you may set a romantic mood
if you desire. A wood fire or lit candles in the fireplace add to your peace and
tranquility.
The kitchens are restored using their original hand crafted knotty pine
cabinets.
The sinks and base cabinets were refinished with a fresh and exciting color scheme
unique to each unit. There are modern refrigerators and gas ranges with ovens.
The kitchens are stocked with coffee makers, microwaves and all the necessary
kitchenware.
Access to the sleeping lofts are via uniquely designed, hand
c rafted captain's ladders that
are quite easy to climb. Each loft has a pale blue ceiling representing the sky, the deep green carpet of lush grass, and the woodsy feel
of knotty pine paneling. When you look out the window,
you could feel like you're
in a tree house. Both grown-ups and kids find the sleeping lofts fun and unique.
The sleeping lofts are larger than you would expect. The highest part of their ceilings is about 5-1/2 feet
and they partially
overlook their living room. The queen bed is set back providing quite a bit of
privacy. There are comfy chairs for relaxing, reading and looking out at the
scenery.

The bath rooms
are completely restored with an art deco flare that
keeps to the 1950's flavor. Both are full baths with a pedestal sink. Cabin 19
has a jetted tub. Each bathroom has it's own design using black and white bath
and floor tiles and two tone paint.
For
Cabin 19, a bedroom is located in the back of the building,
and looks
out at the woods and up the mountain. The queen bed and elegant furniture provide the
perfect place for a good night's sleep. The dresser is possibly the only original
piece. The room's light green color and wood floor
bring in nature from outdoors.
Cabin 19 and 20 can be joined
Cabin 19 and 20 share the same building separated by a
custom built pocket door located
between the two living rooms. This door was
constructed to be completely sealed when closed and locked to provide the
complete separation of the two units. Upon request, this door can be unlocked to
combine both units for larger families or groups. Since the two living rooms
become joined, your party can be together more easily. It's an old fashioned
idea that works exceptionally well with these units.
