Stone Mountain Lodge and Cabins is an ideal setting for family reunions in the mountains, or any group looking to get away from the norm. A small, low key mountain property with a lot of grounds, give any family or group the room to settle in, relax and enjoy each others company. We also have some unique cabins that make family reunions fun. And unlike many reunion resorts, we can fit your budget.

The kids can enjoy the pool while the adults catch-up with each others lives. Enjoy your family or friends while feeding the ducks or fishing at the pond. Take a short hike up the mountain with someone you haven't seen in a while and admire the view of Apple Valley. Talk to others you don't know and make new friends. There is plenty of room to roam and nobody will feel out of place! What could be better than a family reunion in the mountains? And, where it is convenient to Boulder, Denver and Estes Park!

If you are a spiritual or Christian retreat group, a sports team, a recreation club into cycling or fishing, or just a bunch of friends traveling together, the laid back outdoor atmosphere, and the central location of Stone Mountain Lodge is a pleasant and affordable choice for your group or retreat.

Stone Mountain Lodge would also be happy to host your scrap book, quilt or other hobby retreat. We also welcome women's retreats, yoga and other health retreats, marriage or couples retreats and any group stay that wants to relish our clean mountain air and relaxed atmosphere.

Areas for Families, Retreats and Groups to Gather

Your group or family can gather under the tent at the pool, or the sheltered Garden Area by the pond. During the summer, the Reception Tent by the Pond may also be available (additional fee). The pool area has picnic tables and chairs. There is a gas grill to cook a barbeque or you can just hang out with snacks. Float in the pool and look at the towering cliffs. On hot afternoons, you can't beat it!

The sheltered Garden Area by the pond has several picnic tables, a gas grill and a fire pit. It has a relaxing view of the pond and the cliffs. Restrooms are close by. Electricity is available for audio equipment. A small refrigerator and extra chairs can be made available if you would like.

Here, your family reunion or group can enjoy a meal and then hang out around a campfire telling jokes, toasting marshmallows and swapping stories. As the night gets cool, there is nothing better!

There is a 30' x 60' Reception Tent with windowed side-walls at the Pond from May through September that may be reserved for an additional fee under certain provisions. This tent can be used as a "community center" for your group and includes tables and chairs. Please see a description of this option under group details.

Additional Group Services

Indoor meeting space and restaurants that can support groups can be arranged at various locations in and around the town of Lyons depending on group size and needs. If you would like us to arrange for catering, please see our catering packages. We have a number of vendors that can also provide catering, music, and entertainment. Please see our preferred vendor list.  Just let us know how we can help you find what's best for you.

Accommodations for Groups, Retreats and Family Reunions

The Stone Mountain property has a variety of accommodations to suit most everyone. The cabins range in size from studio cabin 22 that sleeps 2 to the combined cabin units 19 and 20 that sleeps up to 10. Most of the lodge rooms sleep 2 or 4 people with one room that sleeps 6.  Stone Mountain Lodge can sleep between 38 and 76 people depending on how many need their own bed.

By special arrangement, there are also several sites for those who wish to camp. Tents, pop-ups, and small RV's may be accommodated. The RV sites have electric hookups only. Please Note: We are not a typical RV park, and cannot accommodate large RV's or motor homes over 25 feet in length.

During the summer season, the campsites are generally located near the reception tent, and are generally more limited. We do not accept advanced reservations for summer season camping (May - Sept) unless it is part of an event that rents the entire property or the entire pond area, and is authorized by the event coordinator.

If your group or family reunion is about the right size, consider renting the property as a whole. For even larger groups, other close by lodging may be arranged. Feel free to call us to discuss any of your group or family reunion needs.

Affordable

Stone Mountain Lodge is a small independently owned resort that caters to family reunions and groups looking to relax and enjoy each others company. Unlike many reunion resorts, your group has full control of its costs. Our accommodations including tent sites, lodge rooms, and cabins offer a broad range of rates. Meals can be shared via a barbeque at the Garden Area. Or  consider a pot luck where those with kitchens can prepare a dish, while those without can bring desserts, drinks, etc. Another day could be set aside for a night out at a local Lyons restaurant for the whole group. Or, you can have a special night where the evening is catered-in.  Whatever you do, you have the flexibility to make things work best for your group or family reunion.

Small Town Charm and Easy Access to the Front Range

Where else can you be located just outside a charming small town, in a Colorado country setting, and yet be an easy drive from Denver International Airport and the whole Front Range including the Denver metro area? There are no winding canyons, yet you have the mountains, wildlife, a pond, and hundreds of acres of open space.

Trips to Boulder and Estes Park are just 20 minutes and Rocky Mountain National Park is just 25 minutes. Click for more area info. But you will find the town of Lyons has so much charm, and with hiking, fishing, biking right here, you'll be content to just hang out.
