The Garden Area

The Garden Area is entered via a redwood bridge crossing a stream lined with stones, shrubs and grasses. A short white picket fence separates the Garden Area with ornamental bushes and flowers.
Benches and picnic tables are always there and our staff can set out addition chairs as needed.
The Garden Area can be used in a variety of ways and is especially useful for the time between the ceremony and the reception.
Consider greeting guests in the Garden Area before the Ceremony. It is a great place for your guests to arrive and mingle in advance of your Ceremony, which will be just a short walk away.
The view of the Pond and the natural scenery will help set the right mood. You could have your caterer set out water and soft drinks and perhaps some snacks.
The Garden Area’s tent and shelter will help keep guests that arrive early comfortable before the Ceremony. Then, an usher or someone else in the Party can announce the Ceremony start with a few minutes time to have the guests seated. Your ushers could also escort honored guests and parents to specific seats.
Your guest book, programs, fans, favors and many other things can also be arranged at the Garden Area. Often, couples set a table in the Garden Area to receive wedding gifts. Your ‘toss’ could be given to guests before the Ceremony.
Music is optional, but the right background music at the Greeting Area can help set the mood for the rest of the festivities.
The Garden Area is an excellent location for having cocktails and hors d’oeuvres after the Ceremony before seating in the Reception Tent. This is typically a time for taking photos of the newly joined couple and their wedding party.
The couple may also be catching some time alone. So, this is a great time for your guests to relax by the Pond, take a walk, and visit.
If there is a reception seating chart or table cards, you can set them out in the Garden Area. These will show guests where they will be seated in the Reception Tent.
Especially if this is a larger wedding, you may consider having your catered Buffet set up in the Garden Area and a Beverage Setup. The guests can be served food and drink at the Garden Area and then walk over to the Reception Tent for Dining, Dancing and Toasting. It’s a very short walk from the Garden Area to the Reception Tent.
