Area Info

The Lyons, Colorado area is located where the rolling hills from the plains turn into the Rocky Mountains. Here, the St. Vrain river becomes more relaxed as it makes its exit from the more rugged mountain canyons.

Red sandstone, and diverse vegetation exist here, where the lower climate of the plains meets the more extreme climate of the mountains.

The weather in the Lyons area represents some of the best in Colorado. Sheltered from big storms, and buffered by more extreme weather found on the planes and higher mountains. The lower mountain elevation of the Lyons area makes it just right along the front range of the Rocky Mountains.
